Catching up Instagram.....

I have decided for the month of May photo challenge to use my Droid camera and Instagram app.  I have a busy month and things are getting away from me. Simple is sometimes good. I will get back to using my Nikon camera soon I am sure. I do carry it around with me daily. Just don't always pull it out to use it. Time is my issue.

So let me catch everyone up to the photo a day May challenge pictures that I have taken. I have been posting them to Facebook, and Twitter through Instagram app so I have been completing the daily challenge I just haven't blogged about it.  Thus is the life of a working mom!

So here we go.

Day 6 Subject YOU

This photo I took while dropping my son off at his school. Yes he attends Catholic school. This is a photo of a painting of Mother Mary. She is inspirational for sure.

Day 8 Subject: Smell you Adore

I had a hard time figuring out what to capture to exude smells that I like. So here is a candle that I have. I absolutely love it. It truly smells like Hot Apple Pie as the title states.  Not like some candles where the title does not match the smell.  I am picky about things like that.

Day 9 Subject: Daily Routine

This is one of the things that I do daily.  Really twice daily but none the less daily.  Brushing my teeth is always fun. I really enjoy when my task is over and my teeth are smooth and mouth is feeling fresh!

Day 10 subject: My Favourite Word

This is one of my favorite Instagram photos I must say. I love this painting that I have in my house. The other words on this picture are Faith and Hope. I wanted to capture one word and Love was my favorite out of the bunch! Too cute.

Day 11 Subject Kitchen

Here are two of my favorite pots out of my kitchen. I love Le Creuset and love the color green and these two pieces are on one of my kitchen counter tops.  Again liking this Instagram photo a bit.

Day Four #photoadayMay Fun to be had...

A "Fun" Day!

Fun, There are so many ways to capture this subject. My son love to ride his bike. It is super fun for him! Soon we will be taking training wheels off and won't that be fun for US.  It is rather fun to watch and help guide your kids to growing up. Sometimes they want to do this too quickly and you have to reign them back in.

Bird..

There are so many different types of birds and we have so many that grace our mornings outside.  It is difficult to take a snap shot.  We have a few bird houses in our back yard which early in the morning receive a lot of activity. However, during the time I was with my camera this is what I was able to shoot.

And Now to the Day 5 photo of #photoadayMay..... The BIRD

I think he is cute! Wonder what color egg he hatched from. Since I couldn't find any real birds at the time of taking the photo I snapped this little shot of my son's play mat hanging toy bird! The background is blurred which is great and the picture looks crisp.  On to Day 6.

Final day!

Today is Friday the last day of Teacher Appreciation week.

I missed a posting yesterday that showed and described the gift my son gave his teacher and teacher assistant.  I will describe it now.  You will see a picture of it in a final picture with all the items given this week.

I actually came up with this idea, no I didn't get this one from Pinterest, like I get most of my ideas.  At Michaels one of my favorite crafting supply stores, I found their $1.00 or $1.50 bins. As always there are a variety of items to choose from.  I found a BIG colorful paperclip.  I grabbed a few and thought I will do SOMETHING with these but really didn't have a clue.  Ahaha, last month I wrote about  making your own magnets. I had left over magnets and E6000 adhesive and went to town. A little dab, add a magnet and wallah there you have it.  Now what. Oh yeah let's not forget the printable.. I downloaded a free printable found again, Tipjunkie.com and inserted the printable into the paperclip.  Easy gift.

FINAL DAY

Today is the last gift. This is a pull together gift of small items.  Monogrammed tissue, pencils, erasers, and  my own printable stating, "Thanks for making me grow!"

Sometimes I wear!

You know "they" make rubber bracelets with every little saying you can imagine. Companies sell them to make money, places buy them to support causes and share their messages as well as to raise money.  I have accumulated many of these bracelets each with a different meaning behind them.

I have adorned my "pink one" to support those who are battling cancers, joining those in solidarity.

I have adorned my "blue Liam The Dragon Slayer" in honor of my friends son who passed away at an early age after fighting his own battle of leukemia.

I wear my "Virtue First" bracelet to support our school district's character building program.

And my second newest one "believe" in support of a fourth grade student who was ill this year at my sons school but has now returned  after two months or more in the children's hospital.

But today, I chose to wear my  "Spread the word to end the word" bracelet.  I received this bracelet a few weeks ago at the Special Services Directors meeting I attend monthly. That particular meeting the Special Olympics representative was presenting to all 21 constituent districts about their various programs.  The representative left with us a variety of things to give away throughout the meeting, but EVERYONE received the bracelet.

What does this bracelet represent?  This is a program that is called R-Word/Spread the Word to End the Word.  This campaign is addressing the use of the derogatory word "retard" and asking people to pledge to not use this word because of the effects it has on families and people who have special needs.  It explains what the R-word is and its use is a problem.  Join me in making the pledge! A Beautiful Skyline!

Day 2 #photoadaymay

Today I pulled a photo from my archives! I had to because the skyline that I see is not as beautiful, well in my opinion today that is. There are other days that the view we have from our home or in general on the way to work of the farm fields meeting the skyline of the valley is absolutely stunning.  Just not today that is. So for the second day of #photoadaymay here is what I've got for you.

I so want to be there. My son L.O.V.E.S. Hawaii and calls it Mimi's beach (my sister's beach)! We had such a great time together and can't wait to go back.
